Join us as our Environmental Data & Carbon Footprint Specialist and help us further develop an existing area of strong work by strengthening the quality of our product carbon footprint reporting. In this temporary role, you will bring your expertise in life cycle assessment, environmental data and analytical problem-solving into an established sustainability structure with high business relevance.
Main Responsibilities
- Product Carbon Footprint Ownership: Own, manage, and continuously improve Elopak's proprietary product carbon footprint calculation tool (DEEP), ensuring robust and scalable calculation methodologies.
- Methodology & Calculation Excellence: Define, review, validate, and document calculation logic, datasets, emission factors, assumptions, scenarios, and outputs in line with relevant PCF and LCA standards.
- Data Quality & Governance: Maintain data flows and develop methodologies, procedures, validation routines, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, traceability, and methodological integrity.
- Supplier Emissions Management: Own and maintain supplier emission factors and support supplier dialogue regarding methodologies, documentation, reporting requirements, and data quality.
- Business & Customer Support: Provide expert responses to customer requests and support internal stakeholders with carbon footprint calculations, sustainability reporting, and analytical insights.
- Continuous Improvement & Digitalization: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality through process improvements, automation, AI, and digital tools.
This position can be based at our office in Skøyen, Norway, or at any of our offices in Denmark, Germany, Finland or the Netherlands. Reporting to the Senior Director Sustainability, you will work closely with colleagues across Sustainability (especially the Senior Environmental Manager), as well as R&D, Procurement and Commercial functions, while also engaging with suppliers and customers.
This role is covering for a maternity leave and will therefore be limited to 12 months (presumably)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Environmental Science or a related field.
- 3-6 years of relevant professional experience in product carbon footprint calculations, life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental data management, or similar analytical disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of carbon footprint methodologies, emission factors, calculation models, assumptions management, and data validation practices.
- Experience working across functions and engaging effectively with suppliers, customers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to translate complex calculations and methodologies into clear and actionable insights.
- Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in in the country you’re applying for is required
